Overview
SafeKeep is an EIP-2535 powered composable smart contract wallet that serves as a vault for storage and preservation of crypto assets. SafeKeep can also be regarded as an on-chain will which allows for legacy inheritor(s) to be assigned crypto assets kept in the vault, in the case of unforeseen circumstances or even death.
This product was designed and built as a collaborative effort between Web3Bridge, Funded by MetaMask.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To be a platform that guarantees safe recovery of crypto assets if access to your default wallet or device used in accessing your assets is lost .
2. Ensure safe and secure transfer of crypto assets to an assigned legacy inheritor in case of unforeseen accidents or death.
3. Serve as a back-up vault for user’s crypto assets4. Acts as a smart contract wallet.

Process
Research - Breaking down the project
In the initial phase, I conducted interviews with potential users to understand their needs and concerns regarding crypto asset storage and inheritance. This helped me gather valuable insights into what users were looking for in a product like SafeKeep. Additionally, I analyzed competitor products to identify their strengths and weaknesses, which informed my design strategy. Collaborating with the development team was crucial during this stage to understand the technical constraints and possibilities of EIP-2535, ensuring that the design would be technically feasible.Building on strong foundations
Based on this research, I developed user personas and created wireframes to map out the app’s functionality and structure. From there, I created a high-fidelity prototype and conducted usability testing to refine the design and improve the user experience. The final design included features such as a personalized workout tracker and an easy-to-use booking system.
Ideation and Conceptualization
I created moodboards, user personas and journey maps to visualize different user scenarios and interactions with SafeKeep. This helped me understand the various ways users would interact with the wallet. During brainstorming sessions, I explored different design solutions and features that could address user needs while enhancing security.
Wireframing and Prototyping
To outline the basic structure and layout of the SafeKeep wallet, I developed low-fidelity wireframes. These wireframes showed the wallet creation process, to ping, and inheritor asses control from a central dashboard and were iteratively refined based on feedback from stakeholders and potential users. Once the wireframes were finalized, I built high-fidelity prototypes using design tools to simulate the final user interface, making it easier to test and validate the design.
Outcome
Design Handoff and Implementation
Collaborating closely with the development team, I ensured that the design was implemented accurately. I provided detailed design specifications and assets to the developers and participated in regular check-ins and design reviews to address any implementation challenges that arose.
Learnings
One of the key learnings from this project was the importance of user research. Understanding user needs and pain points through research was crucial in designing a product that truly addresses user concerns. The iterative design process also proved to be valuable, as continuous testing and iteration helped in refining the product to better meet user expectations. Additionally, close collaboration with the development team ensured that the design was feasible and implemented effectively. This project reinforced the importance of working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve the best outcomes.
